Pesaru papu(Yellow moong dal) 1 cup
Onion 1 large (Diced into 1 inch cubes)
Tomatoes 2 big (Diced into 1 inch cubes)
Ginger 2 inch piece
Garlic cloves 2-3
Jeera ½ tea spoon
Mustered seeds ½ tea spoon
Salt to taste
Red chili powder to taste or green chili to taste
Oil 1-2 tea spoons
Hing (asafetida)
- Place a pressure cooker on medium flame.
- Once the pan is hot, add oil ,jeera, mustered seeds and curry leaves.
- Once you here the splattering sound of mustered seeds, then add chopped onions, ginger, garlic and hing, fry them for a sec.
- Now add tomatoes, dal and water and pressure cooks for 10 min.
- Tomato dal is ready.
